Welcome to Inclusive Fitness CIC

Inclusive FItness CIC was founded by Gareth Hughes. While Gareth Hughes has been in the fitness industry for some time,

it was in October 2023 that he decided to launch Inclusive Fitness CIC.

In 2016 he was in an accident that led to him being confined to a wheelchair. Being an avid gym user it soon became apparent

that there was nothing available in the gym or fitness industry that caters for people with disabilities and wheelchair users.

Specifically, during this time, Gareth Hughes clearly understood that a business would enjoy significant success in his hometown.

Carrianne Halford who has been a childhood friend of Gareth, became poorly  in 2021 with neurological symptoms of loss of feeling

and was diagnosed with a rare tumour, a Cavernoma in her spinal cord unfortunately it led to her being paralysed too.

Gareth Appointed Carrianne as another director and employed her as secretary/accounts

We will provide a fitness facility which can cater for disabled and non disabled people in the community and surrounding area

What will set Inclusive fitness cic apart from other gyms in the area  is we will be able to offer a unique point of view as to what

disabled people require and need to be able stay fit and healthy. Also be able to adjust and assist in their fitness routine.

We want to inspire and motivate others to push past their limitations.

Disabled people want to have fun and live a normal life,to give them the strength and confidence that anything is possible. New experience and New friendships

We offer a unique opportunity for people with disabilities to attend and use a gym  with adaptive machinery, Social Isolation and

Mental Health. To improve quality of life a sense of well being and self worth, reduces the risk of many chronic diseases.

42% of disabled people do less than 30 mins of exercise per week, Inclusive Fitness wants to improve this. Give the opportunity

with well trained and knowledgeable staff to help people with conditions such as, Arthritis, respiratory disorders, spinal injuries,

cerebral palsy, vision impairment, brain injury, Autism and many more.

Only 28% of disabled people were feeling encouraged to return to activity after the pandemic,

compared to 50% of non-disabled people. For those who return, only half (53%) said it was a positive experience.

[Activity Alliance Annual Disability and Activity Survey 2021-22] In a recent survey by

Inclusion Gloucestershire, 50% of the 79 respondents also said that they were ‘very worried’ or ‘a little worried’ accessing exercise. [Inclusion Gloucestershire, Social and Leisure Report]

Disabled people will be able to attend with carers and health professionals and we will have  our own staff who will assist or

recommend a plan workout specialised to their needs.

We are the only Fully accessible gym in the South West for both disabled and non disabled people.

Our aim is to create a fully inclusive space where everyone and anyone feels safe and welcome.

Inclusive Fitness CIC aims to encourage customers to walk and ride to the facilities where they can, and to encourage car sharing. We will also recycle products and use smol cleaning products that are great for our facility and better for our planet. We also will be looking at solar panels and using LED lighting  and helping combat carbon footprint.

As Inclusive fitness cic is a non profit organisation membe
rships will be reinvested back into helping others people with disabilities

enjoy access to exercise and our community, Free Community fun days And Charity events, our local Bream Rugby Club are happy

to help with a venue for bigger events.
